UIS Global, a new collaboration between the University of Illinois Springfield and Shorelight, will launch in Fall 2022. International graduate students pursuing master’s degrees in computer science, data analytics, and management information systems will make up the first cohort.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The University of Illinois Springfield and Shorelight announce the launch of UIS Global, a new collaboration that will operate graduate direct admission for the university, focusing on master’s programs in computer science, data analytics, and management information systems. UIS Global furthers UIS’s commitment to experiential learning that prepares students to enter an evolving global job market, alongside Shorelight’s mission to educate the world. 

In recent years, Shorelight universities have seen increasing international student interest in high quality, affordable STEM degree programs, particularly in computer science. To address this continuing demand, UIS Global broadens the Shorelight portfolio of exceptional STEM degree program offerings for international graduate students. The first UIS Global cohort will enroll graduate students in Fall 2022.

UIS Global Faculty Openings

UIS is currently accepting applications for full-time, on-campus computer science instructors, with courses beginning in Fall 2022. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and delivering core and elective graduate computer science and information systems security courses

  • Providing services aligned with UIS departmental, college, and university activities

  • Completing other program-related duties as assigned

UIS faculty are committed to excellence in teaching, ongoing scholarship, and community service. Candidates must hold a master’s degree in computer science or a closely related field and have experience teaching core and elective computer science or information security courses, both on campus and online.
