Washington, DC (Oct. 5, 2016) — U.S. News & World Report, the global authority in education rankings, and Shorelight announced the creation of U.S. News Global Education. The new company will help international students and their families find universities that support their needs.

“We have seen a tremendous increase in the number of international students researching US universities on usnews.com,” said Bill Holiber, president and CEO of U.S. News. “Over the past few years we’ve started developing content and information specifically designed for international students and the response has been very positive. By collaborating with Shorelight and creating U.S. News Global Education, we are further expanding our global presence and platform for international students seeking to study at a US university.”

U.S. News Global Education, a Shorelight subsidiary company, will bring U.S. News’ authoritative rankings and analysis together with Shorelight’s international student expertise in supporting students looking to study at colleges and universities in the United States.

“Many international students and parents face unique challenges in the college research process: a foreign market, language barriers and varying sources of information,” said Tom Dretler, CEO of Shorelight and chairman of U.S. News Global Education. “Our combined efforts will help students from across the globe fulfill their educational aspirations and benefit from a transformative university experience.”

Through U.S. News Global Education, international students and their families will have access to insights and analysis to make better, more informed decisions when selecting a university. Services for counselors and advisors are also planned.
