Once Nada earns her degree, she’ll be able to apply for roles such as construction manager, site manager, cost engineer, and surveyor of land.

Nada described her experience living in the United Kingdom, especially Edinburgh, as quite rewarding — the diversity of cultures, stunning buildings, and vibrant student life made her feel more at home.
“Edinburgh is a beautiful and historic city with a welcoming atmosphere, so adjusting has been effortless,” she said. While it took some time to adjust to the cold climate and different education system, she felt the diversity of students on campus and the plentiful resources available made it much easier for her to adjust. “All in all, I am enjoying my experience and more and more settling into Edinburgh,” she said.

Regarding her personal experience as an international student, Nada said that she felt welcomed by the students and staff at Heriot-Watt University UK from day one. Within that community, Nada and her friends could share experiences, help each other overcome academic challenges, and collectively participate in cultural events.
“This sense of belonging has provided much ease and comfort in [adjusting to] studying within the UK,” she said.

“I am excited about working in a challenging environment where I can contribute toward bringing in sustainable approaches and innovative solutions to construction projects,” she said. Though she is open to international opportunities, Nada believes Kuwait can provide strong opportunities for making a meaningful impact in her field.
