Basil brings years of international education expertise and leadership to his roles at Shorelight: As former senior vice president of Kaplan Global Solutions, he was instrumental in building Kaplan’s global business while establishing 60+ transnational degree programs. Additionally, he developed Kaplan’s partnership programs in Hong Kong, China, and Singapore, including complex consortia relationships with elite US, UK, and Australian universities.
Basil holds a PhD in literature and philosophy from Boston University, where he also earned an MFA under the tutelage of three-time US Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky. He is a founding editor of Antilever Press, a nonprofit publisher of contemporary poetry.
