Job Overview

The Senior Vice President, Human Resources (SVP), leads the department’s strategy planning and execution.  As a member of the executive leadership team, the SVP leverages his or her leadership experience to drive business success and growth, employing a Human Resources Business Partner model in concert with HR specialists in the areas of Talent Management and Total Rewards, with the end goal of developing Centers of Excellence within Human Resources.  The SVP aligns HR operations, talent management, and total rewards with Shorelight’s business goals.  This individual optimizes the HR team’s capabilities to drive business results through world-class people programs, processes, and policies whilst being adaptable and able to support the changing priorities of the company within the HR department. This role has direct supervision of the Total Rewards Analyst, Director of Talent Management and two Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs).  The position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Essential Functions

 

  • Strategy
    • Work with the CEO, CFO, COO, and executive operating committee to set the vision and long-term strategy for corporate growth
    • Design and lead the organization’s people strategy
    • Contribute to the planning and implementation of business development and expansion strategies in a complex, high-growth organization
    • Nurture the organization’s culture through the implementation of processes that support Shorelight’s values, mission and goals

 

  • Human Resources Operations
    • Manage the work of the HRBPs and HR specialists
    • Develop and manage the Human Resources budget
    • Align HR team priorities and expenditures to business goals and priorities
    • Continually develop and implement effective, scalable HR policies and practices that anticipate company needs and successfully address specific unforeseeable issues when they arise
    • Create and leverage people analytics to drive scalable growth across the organization
    • Provide vision and leadership for expanding global HR operations, assuring the company is following international HR best practices, resulting in an equitable work environment for all employees and compliance with local market labor laws
    • Partnering with Shorelight’s Legal department, contribute to management of global risk

 

  • Talent Management
    • Design and lead a people strategy that puts employees first and connects a global team with the goal of building a high-performance culture
    • Lead best-in-class global performance management process
    • Develop and implement an employee engagement strategy that highlights results in greater employee satisfaction and supports retention of star performers and those with high potential
    • Develop talent strategies, approaches and processes linked to business needs and objectives to effectively manage strong succession planning and long-term projections of talent gaps and leadership needs
    • Provide leadership regarding an employee development philosophy, which would include learning opportunities such as internal/external trainings, conference attendance, and mentorship
  • Total Rewards
    • Oversee the strategy, development, and management of a global compensation structure that ensures Shorelight is competitive with employers of top talent in each of our local markets and works to attract, motivate and retain the very best employees
  • Human Resources Communication
    • In partnership with Shorelight’s Corporate Communications team, develop and distribute communication intended to keep internal audiences informed on changes occurring within the organization and support retention efforts

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 15+ years of HR experience
  • Strong global HR acumen
  • Experience working in a high-growth organization
  • Experience developing and transforming HR practices that align with organizational culture and goals
  • Proven experience of working at and influencing the executive level in both private and public organizations
  • Exemplary relationship building abilities
  • Solid strategic-thinking skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Prior experience with data-driven decision making
  • Strong knowledge of HR-related laws and regulations
  • Eligibility to work and travel in the United States without sponsorship

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • HR leadership in both private and public growth organizations
  • MBA or MA/MS in human resources or related field
  • HR Certification from an organization the caliber of SHRM, HRCI or CIPD
