Shorelight Names Ranil Herath as Chief Revenue Officer
Boston, April 8, 2024 – Shorelight, a global leader in international student mobility, today announced that Ranil Herath has joined the company as chief revenue officer. Herath brings extensive expertise to the senior executive team and a proven track record in driving revenue and enrollment growth in higher education, and will step into a pivotal role in building upon Shorelight’s strong sales and marketing efforts while overseeing all revenue streams into the company.
Herath is a seasoned executive leader with a track record of driving strategic growth in higher education and edtech. His expertise spans marketing, sales, admissions, end-to-end enrollment management, B2B, B2C, and international markets.
Previously, Herath served as president of Emeritus Healthcare where he partnered with leading institutions, including Harvard, Emory, Johns Hopkins, MIT, and Columbia, to conceptualize, develop, and manage online educational programs. In his prior roles at Adtalem Global Education, Ranil led transformation and growth across large-scale nursing, medical, and veterinary schools.
Herath grew up in Sri Lanka and the UK, went to college in India, immigrated to Canada and then to the US. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Delhi University, MBA from Colombo University, and completed executive leadership programs at Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago, and the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.
